Is there too much government in your life?

He either doesn’t get it or he’s lying. Pick. Obama’s comments today revealed one or the other. I’ll go through his comments and give you my read. Here goes:
Obama said: “Well, on Friday, we learned that after 22 straight months of job loss, our economy has now created jobs in the private sector for 6 months in a row. That’s a positive sign. But the truth is, the recession from which we’re emerging has left us in a hole that’s about 8 million jobs deep. And as I’ve said from the day I took office, it’s going to take months, even years, to dig our way out – and it’s going to require an all-hands-on-deck effort.”
Reetzality: I don’t recall him saying it would take “even years, to dig our way out.” Total nonfarm payroll employment declined by 125,000 in June, and the unemployment rate edged down to 9.5 percent. The decline in payroll employment reflected a decrease (-225,000) in the number of temporary employees working on Census 2010. Private sector payroll employment edged up by 83,000. However, there was a big jump (more than 800,000) in the number of people outside the labor force — neither working nor looking for work. That’s the only reason that the unemployment rate fell, to 9.5 percent from 9.7 percent. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). This means that the unemployment rate fell last month but actual unemployment did not fall. President Obama is guilty of a false positive.
Obama said: “In the short term, we’re fighting to speed up this recovery and keep the economy growing by all means possible. That means extending unemployment insurance for workers who lost their job. That means getting small businesses the loans they need to keep their doors open and hire new workers. And that means sending relief to states so they don’t have to lay off thousands of teachers and firefighters and police officers. Still, at a time when millions of Americans feel a deep sense of urgency in their own lives, Republican leaders in Washington just don’t get it. While a majority of Senators support taking these steps to help the American people, some are playing the same old Washington games and using their power to hold this relief hostage – a move that only ends up holding back our recovery. It doesn’t make sense. ”
Reetzality: Republicans are not against extending unemployment benefits, they just want to fund it with unspent stimulus money. According to Senator Ben Nelson, 63% of Stimulus money is unspent. Obama wants to create even more debt. Republicans do get it and so do a lot of Democrats. Use the money that’s there. Quit burdening our future.
As to getting small businesses loans, small business is having trouble obtaining financing, however small business has a bigger concern, the cancerous growth of government and the dire condition of the economy that will get worse when the tax increases take effect in 2011. Trust me Mr. President, and I forgive you for not understanding this given your comprehensive lack of business knowledge, Small Business is not expanding because small business is terrified of your policies. Only a fool, or a government, would double down with more debt in this economy with the looming threat of government explosion cloaking their future. (Cancerous government growth takes down governments too. See Greece, U.S.S.R., Spain, Portugal, Ireland, U.K.)
As to sending relief to State’s “so they don’t have to lay off thousands of teachers and firefighters and police officers,” I say let the States fall where they may. They’ve deficit spent their way to the poor house and now Obama wants to enable them in their irresponsibility. It is not fair to further burden the tax payers and their off spring with more debt to pay for lavish government expenditures, work environments and pensions. What is fair is to hold states and those that chose government as their career to suffer the consequences of their choice. Why should the public sector not be treated the same way as a private business? It shouldn’t. Of course, this doesn’t hold true for Wall Street, AIG, and the Auto Industry, but two wrongs don’t make a right. That’s still true isn’t it? State’s should have to live within their means just like everybody else.
Obama said: “. . . we’re going to keep competing aggressively to make sure the jobs and industries of the future are taking root right here in America.”
Reetzality: What single thing has our President pushed that would be consistent with keeping jobs and industries of the future right here in America?” He is in bed with the ultimate job killer, Unions. Don’t think Unions kill jobs? How’s the auto industry, manufacturing, and the Steel Industry doing? Not too well.
Obama answered: “That’s one of the reasons why we’re accelerating the transition to a clean energy economy and doubling our use of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power – steps that have the potential to create whole new industries and hundreds of thousands of new jobs in America.”
Reetzality: Hey Mr. Obama, maybe you should study the “Green Effect” in Spain. While Spain has traditionally suffered from relatively high unemployment, double the 9.8 percent average for the European Union, the sharpest increase has been among young people. It has jumped from 17.5 percent three years ago to the current 42.9 percent. Spain was on the leading edge in the EU to convert to a sustainable life style free from their oil addiction, by adopting wind and solar power. (Russel Steele). For every new position that depends on energy price supports, at least 2.2 jobs in other industries will disappear, according to a study from King Juan Carlos University in Madrid. In Spain, where wind turbines provided 11 percent of power demand last year, generators earn rates as much as 11 times more for renewable energy compared with burning fossil fuels. So Mr. President, although you might actually create hundred of thousands of new jobs, if history repeats itself, and it always does, multiply your jobs created by 2.2 and subtract that from your numbers.
Obama said: “But what this weekend reminds us, more than any other, is that we are a nation that has always risen to the challenges before it.”
Reetzality: I agree with you Mr. President. We just disagree with the particular challenge we are rising to. More and more Americans are rising to a challenge named “You.”
Obama said: “We are a nation that mustered a sense of common purpose to overcome Depression and fear itself.”
Reetzality: No Mr. President, we did not muster a sense of common purpose, we mustered, and employed a common sense of freedom, free from government, free from high taxes, free from over-regulation, free from the redistribution of our productivity by government. The only common purpose our nation has is the Constitution. It’s what made us great.
Obama said: We are a nation that embraced a call to greatness and saved the world from tyranny.
Reetzality: Then why Mr. President did you go on the apology tour? Why do you employ so many folks who not only are not fond of our “greatness,” but embrace tyrannical leaders. Check out the politics of these folks: Ed Montgomery, Dennis Ross, Joshua DuBois, Van Jones (fired), Daniel Fried, Gary Samore, Ashton Carter, Adolf Carrion, Jr., John Brennan, J. Scott Gration, George Mitchell, Dennis Blair. That’s enough proof for now.
We are a great nation based upon the greatest God given principles. And that we should celebrate on this Fourth of July for sure. But let us not be fooled. The challenge we now face is from within, history and the facts tell us so. Our President’s vision of our nation is inconsistent with the very fundamentals of our nation. And I think he gets it, he just can’t be honest about it.
That’s my Reetzality for the Day.
Thanks for the read.

POST QUESTION? Who are the true public servants of today? It would seem that those serving the public are the private sector since they ultimately pay for it all. Thus, I think the term “public servant” needs a new definition.
Is there anything our President likes about America other than leisurely destroying it? I’m searching for an answer, trying to find something that our President not only says he likes, but something he acts like he likes. Let’s run a list. Here goes.
Free Enterprise: No way does our President likes free enterprise. He says he does but his actions betray his words. He bailed out the banks, the auto industry, AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He wants hyper control over our financial system. He is drooling over the possibility of shutting down the oil industry. He is in favor of the redistribution of wealth. He actually believes the Constitution is flawed because it does not address “redistributive justice,” his words. He is in favor of Cap and Trade which will be a monumental shroud on free enterprise, and freedom itself in that Cap and Trades’ tendrils will reach right down to a persons domicile. Nope, our President is not an advocate of free enterprise.
Border Control and Security: Our President does not want our borders controlled. He says he does but refuses to act until we get “comprehensive” immigration policy. Unfortunately, “comprehensive,” to him, means amnesty for thirteen million illegal aliens and probably a lot more. He still hasn’t made good on his promise to Arizona to send 1200 National Guardsmen to the border, actually breaking his promise of doing so within two weeks after the meeting with the Arizona Governor. Let’s face it folks, our President does not even view the very land we occupy as worthy of protection. As to National Security, he nixed the missile defense system in Eastern Europe. He has done nothing to keep Iran non-nuclear. He’s cutting defense spending. He wants to treat foreign terrorists as common criminals, trying them in criminal courts rather than military tribunals. He won’t even use the phrase “Islamic Extremist.” You know those guys who are willing to die to destroy us.
Self Reliance: Our President does not respect self-reliance. Redistributive Justice does not co-exist with self-reliance. His health care bill does not co-exist with self-reliance. He believes it is the government’s job and duty to provide and not the individual’s responsibility. He believes it’s government’s fault if you don’t own a house, have a job, have health care, can’t afford education, don’t have insurance, not the individual’s fault.
American Exceptionalism: Our President does not believe we are exceptional. Actually, we’re just human, but we’ve been blessed with a nation that was founded on freedom and liberty which allowed us to actualize and be exceptional. But does our President praise this truth? No. He apologizes to the world for our behavior. He ignores our principles and wants us to be more like other nations, that Mr. President, in case you haven’t watched the news of late, are failing. He does not like the idea of a nation with our principles dominating the world, or even leading it for that matter. And that says a lot about the man because if you don’t like us leading with our principles, then you don’t understand the magnificence of our principles.
Environment: The Gulf Oil Spill reveals that our President doesn’t care too much about the environment. He views the Gulf Oil Spill as an opportunity to impose his priorities of more regulation, less freedom (pass Cap and Trade) and less free enterprise rather than a dire call to action to save the environment. He views the Gulf Oil Spill as a “fat pitch” to further attack free enterprise, all the while, actually thwarting the efforts to thwart the environmental impact of the spill. He took two weeks to respond to Louisiana’s request to build barrier islands. He turned down offers of help to deal with the oil spill from thirteen nations. Under his rule, the coast guard moth balled skimmers in order to make sure they met government regulations, further delaying remedial measures to save the environment. His only non-urban activity is golf and that’s not saying much. Cap and Trade won’t fix the environment. China and India aren’t signing on and even if they did, Cap and Trade only imposes more government. Scientifically, there is no evidence that it will do anything for the environment.
State’s Rights: He is suing Arizona for exercising their state’s rights. He does not like State’s rights, the very right that is set forth to create a sort of governmental competition. The very right that allows state’s to innovate in their policies in an attempt to improve life. He doesn’t agree with a state’s right to ban abortion.
Free Speech: He doesn’t like it. He attacks free expression regularly, even going so far as to say that free expression gets in the way of progress. He appointed Justice Kagen who is no fan of the First Amendment, who believes that there should be a redistribution of free expression which means government control. He is in favor of the Fairness Doctrine which in classic Ayn Randian style, has nothing to do with fairness but rather equality of points of view which means, government control of speech. He is in favor of net neutrality, meaning more government control, less free speech.
The Right to Bear Arms: He does not believe in the Second Amendment. His votes in the Illinois Legislature prove this.
What’s left? Does it even matter? By having contempt for the principles stated above, does one even need to go further? It’s akin to saying, “I like Nuclear Reactors, I’m just not fond of the nuclear reaction that goes on inside.” You cannot love America and what it stands for if you don’t stand for the American Principles. And our President does not stand for the American Principles. It’s as plain as day. He says it. He acts upon his words. He has contempt for those who disagree. We have enough information to finalize the diagnosis.
Folks, his rhetoric sounded good during the campaign. But now, at this critical time, it is imperative to realize and act upon the truth that it was just rhetoric, nothing more. He doesn’t like our country and if you don’t join him in his effort to destroy that which made us great, he doesn’t like you. And folks, here’s the kicker: He not only doesn’t like America, what he really doesn’t like is our freedom to save it. Freedom is his nemesis. Freedom is the stalking horse that threatens his skewed un-American vision. Freedom is what he really despises.
On a psychological note, a note based upon my observations and education, if a child is raised by an abusive parent, it is likely that the child will be grow up to be an abusive parent as well. This is particularly true with sexual abuse. It is called the Cycle of Sexual Abuse. Here’s the reach. Our President views his history, whether it is the cultural African American history or his history personally, as abusive and unfair. Is there a possibility that he is metaphorically the abused child playing his role in the cycle of abuse? To him, America wasn’t that good to him. (Rather amazing, he became President) He had a broken home. He was raised by a cacophony of anti-American mentors. He was bounced around from place to place, home to home. And now he’s an adult, repeating the anti-American mantra through his words, but more so through his actions. Is this the case? It sure seems like it, but I’m just asking.
So, going back to the premise of this piece, what is it that our President likes about this country? I come up with not a single fundamental American thing. I am not saying that he isn’t enjoying the fruits of our Nation’s labor. He is, but the fruits, the opulence he enjoys is not an American Principle. All dictators live opulent lives by the way. Opulence has nothing to do with American Principles. Opulence is a by-product but not a fundamental of Americanism. So please don’t argue that he loves America because he appreciates the opulence it has bestowed upon him. To love America is to love its principles. And he does not. And that is the dire dilemma that faces us today.
Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian president, said Moscow was bidding to help lead efforts to build a new world economic order after the old system collapsed in the global financial crisis. Mr Medvedev said the renewed interest in Russia this year was a sign of a changing world in which the institutions of the western-dominated world order had had their day amid thousands of corporate defaults and the threat of sovereign defaults. Medvedev said, “What had seemed untouchable has collapsed. The bubbles that created the illusion of flourishing economies have burst. And we should use it to build a modern, flourishing and strong Russia … which will be a co-founder of the new world economic order and a full participant in the collective political leadership of the post-crisis world.” That’s just great. Russia is now vying to lead the world economy. Now, I’m not faulting Dmitry. I don’t fault ambition, ever. But I am going to do some “faulting” here. Here’s what I’m going to fault. Western Government, that’s what.
Two points to consider Dmitry. One, the free market didn’t fail. Two, Western Government failed. Yes, we are in a global recession. Yes, times have been tough.
But mind you Dmitry, the vast, vast, vast majority of failures have been directly tied to government. Let’s check it out. AIG? Credit default swaps unregulated by government, thank you Lindsey Grahm and President Clinton. Financial Crisis on Wall Street? Community Redevelopment Act, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, are the root causes. The auto industry? Government imposed café standards and unions. Steel Industry? Unions and regulation caused its demise. Real estate market crash? Again, Community Redevelopment Act, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Outlandish corporate risks gone bad? Enabled by government bail outs.
But the biggest failure? Government? Which one? Pick. U.S., Greece, Spain, Portugal, U.K., Ireland, Japan. Every one of them simply spent more than they took in and bankrupted themselves, except they don’t have to go bankrupt, they can tax. The problem is that when they tax they kill the host that their parasitic nature depends on. They kill the private sector which when you look at the portion of the private sector that is not tethered, buoyed or inflated by government, that portion is doing all right, even in these disastrous times. But even the portion of the private sector that isn’t attached to the wet teet of government will be crushed if government takes much more of the productivity.
And that’s the plan, to take more, to redistribute more, to further slash liberty to the bare. Every nation, every leader needs a kick in the head. They need to be forced to objectively review history and admit that they are wrong in their pursuits. They need to accept the fact that government, more often than not, is not the solution, it’s the problem. Government is unaccountable and suffers little consequence, thus they routinely fail as they are now. This isn’t new. This is the same old story.
Come on readers. How’s our government doing on the Gulf Oil Spill? How is our government doing on the illegal alien problem? Our government couldn’t even run Arlington National Cemetery correctly. If you didn’t see the news today, they found a pile of head stones in a creek bed and were recently found to be burying veterans on top of other veterans. It is rather ironic that our government can’t even manage to run a burial appropriately while at the same time, pushing us in a direction where it’s going to need it’s own burial. There’s more. Social Security? Bankrupt. Medicare? Bankrupt. Medicaid? Bankrupt. Our future, bankrupt. (If we don’t act fast). We have 113 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities crashing down on us. If we don’t change, we are dooming ourselves and our children and our children’s children. Shame on us.
Yet, I’ll give Dmitry this: He’s on the right track. He said this too: “Russia needs a real investment boom”, in order to achieve its modernization goals, he said. To stimulate that, Mr Medvedev announced Moscow would introduce zero taxation on capital gains for companies working on long-term investments starting from January next year and said Russia was improving the legal system to provide better protection for businesses against the long arm of bureaucracy.
Wow, we won the cold war only to be out libertied by the Ruskies! Now that’s down right embarrassing.
Wake up folks. Government is the problem. It’s a cancer, and it’s killing us. We need to get it under control. We need to shrink the tumor or learn to speak Russian or maybe Chinese.
That’s my Reetzality for the day.
Obama is still playing the metaphorical role of the parent who spoils, enables, and ultimately ruins his children. The metaphor is this; the parent is the President, the children are Americans. On Saturday, Obama urged reluctant lawmakers Saturday to quickly approve nearly $50 billion in emergency aid to state and local governments, saying the money is needed to avoid “massive layoffs of teachers, police and firefighters” and to support the still-fragile economic recovery. Rahm Emanuel said,”While some people say you have to spend and some people say you have to cut, the president wants to talk about both cuts and investing,” There’s some of the old audacity, characterizing “spending” as “investing.” (Government spending has a negative multiplier effect which means the economy shrinks by more than a dollar when the government spends a dollar.)
The federal government needs to stop borrowing money, mostly from China, and start existing within its means. The Federal Government has a monumental cash flow problem meaning the money coming in is less than the money going out. Yet, the current administration could care less. The stimulus did not stop a free fall. It protected government workers who make substantially more than the private sector.
As reported in the USA TODAY by Dennis Cauchon on March 8th, 2010, “Federal employees earn higher average salaries than private-sector workers in more than eight out of 10 occupations, a USA TODAY analysis of federal data finds. Accountants, nurses, chemists, surveyors, cooks, clerks and janitors are among the wide range of jobs that get paid more on average in the federal government than in the private sector. Overall, federal workers earned an average salary of $67,691 in 2008 for occupations that exist both in government and the private sector, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The average pay for the same mix of jobs in the private sector was $60,046 in 2008, the most recent data available. These salary figures do not include the value of health, pension and other benefits, which averaged $40,785 per federal employee in 2008 vs. $9,882 per private worker, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.”
Here’s some Reetzality: According to the USA TODAY analysis, the over-all cost, what “public servants” earn, of a public sector job including benefits is $38,548.00 more than an equivalent private sector job. Well not entirely equivalent. Public sector employees don’t work as hard, aren’t as accountable, and don’t get fired as easily as private sector workers. Glenn Beck is encouraging us to read the Road to Serfdom by Friedrich von Hayek which is an influential exposition of classical liberalism. I looked up the word Serf for the literal definition. It is, according to Webster’s, “1. A person in a condition of feudal servitude, required to render services to a lord, commonly attached to the lord’s land and transferred with it from one owner to another. 2. A slave.” Sadly, I think we’re nearing the end of this particular road. We are required to render. Our burden to render is passed from one political class to another. Do we really own our land? Just stop paying the king, I mean the government and see how long you can call home, home. And the kings’ men, I mean the public sector employees, are getting compensated more than the private sector. They are receiving more wealth than the folks actually producing the wealth. And isn’t being forced to pay near fifty percent of a person’s productivity in taxes, whether state, federal, local, property, sales, fuel, personal property, license fees, etc., effectively a partial violation of the Thirteenth Amendment? Doesn’t that make a person half a slave? Well maybe not. We don’t have to work. We can go Surfing. Maybe it’s only share cropper status government is imposing.
Back to serious. The private sector is still collapsing under the present weight of government and the fear of the future increased weight of government and Obama wants to bail out government. Hey President, how about cutting government. How about doing what any private sector enterprise would do when faced with a budget crisis, across the board cuts in wages? Or if your minions in your teachers unions, police and fire fighter unions and the AEIU don’t like it, lay some of them off. Trust me Mr. President, we in the private sector will survive. Further more, these are state entities you are bailing out. Why not allow the States to resolve their own problems? Why continue to enable a failing and likely soon to actually fail top heavy government bloated system that continues to usurp the people’s liberties, principles, perseverance, ingenuity, and optimism? Here’s why. Obama is a bad President, behaving just like a bad parent. He is the parent who keeps saying, “This is the last warning! This is the last time. If you ______________ (fill in the blank with any adolescent transgression) one more time, I will ______________ (fill in the blank with any punishment).” Then, when the bad parent’s child once again commits a transgression, he again enables the child by not imposing consequences. Consider this: Wage cuts in government are almost historically non-existent. Thus, now when we need them, when our future depends on a smaller government (or learning Chinese), government workers will have no part of it. Government workers will behave just like a spoiled child who is facing the imposition of a rarely, if ever, imposed consequence. They will throw a tantrum. And the parent, our President, will come to their aid, blame others, probably George Bush, and do anything he can to commandeer the wet teet into their mouths, further damaging the future.
In fact, this is exactly what he is doing right now. He said so yesterday. I am not making a prognosis here. I am making a diagnosis. Sticking with the parenthood comparison, my experience is that when a parent spoils, enables, and comprehensively fails to raise a child of much merit, eventually, notwithstanding the contempt for the child’s behavior, the parent is held to be responsible. The parent is the bad guy. The children are the ones who suffer. Obama is the parent. Americans are the children. Maybe Obama needs to read some Dr. Spock. It seems like he’s reading Dr. Seuss.
Of late, as the primary election season gets under way and America’s anger at Washington and government continues to manifest itself into positive change, (See Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, polls, Spector, Lincoln, Obey, etc.) President Obama is again attacking Republicans in a feeble attempt to lend support to this threatened minions. President Obama is attacking Republicans for not cooperating with his agenda in the midst of one of America’s greatest crisis when “they caused it.” His words. Wow! Is he really saying this? Yes he is. Almost unbelievable. Here’s why:
The crisis he is referring to is a financial crisis with tendrils reaching into home ownership, employment, every aspect of the economy and most importantly, the survival of America. Obama says Republican’s caused it, not democrats, and not Washington. Republicans “caused it” according to Obama. He’s lying or he is ignorant, pick. Yes, George Bush spent way too much money and George Bush, while aware the dire financial woes on the horizon with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, did not succeed in fixing the problem. George Bush has some culpability. But was he alone? Absolutely not. Barney Frank and democrats defended Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and their insane endorsement of even more insane lending practices. Democrats went right along with Bush’s spending spree. It is not a Republican or Democratic problem, it is a problem with Washington. Apparently America understands this and Obama does not.
How can I say that Obama doesn’t understand this? Easy. Obama is Bush on Steroids. He is doing everything he and democrats criticized Bush for doing. Spending, he makes Bush look like a cheap pauper. Government control, invasion into our lives, the destruction of liberty, think Patriot Act which was condemned by democrats, Obama has pounded on the accelerator when it comes to growth of government and the attack on liberty.
Obama is spending our nation into Bankruptcy. Earlier this week, the Bank of England Governor, Mervyn King, irked US authorities by pointing out that even the world’s economic superpower has a major fiscal problem – “Even the United States, the world’s largest economy, has a very large fiscal deficit” were his words.
Obama has taken away our freedom to control our own health care while, and this is quite consistent with his un-American view, making us responsible for other’s health care.
War? He’s in the thick with little beyond rhetoric and his campaign promises to indicate he has an exit strategy.
He wants to monitor the internet. He is in favor of the fairness doctrine although he is pursing his free speech control administratively rather than legislatively, he still does not like free speech. He recently said that too much information and argument injures the “emancipation” and democracy. I still don’t know what “emancipation” information and argument are injuring.
He is pushing cap and trade under a different name, fleeing terms like carbon tax, regressive tax, global warming, even cap and trade. He is honing in on calling his agenda the American Energy Act.
Immigration? A closed for the season sign is apparently hanging in the office of the folks in the Administration that should be dealing with the immigration problem.
See my point? Obama is pointing fingers at the Republicans for a problem, a crisis, that is absolutely not owned exclusively by Republicans. And let’s talk about pointing fingers. Last week Obama pointed fingers at the Oil industry. Why? Amazingly, to accuse them of pointing fingers; rather gutsy for the greatest finger pointer in history to attack an entire industry for doing just that, pointing fingers. It is especially amazing when according to the Associated Press, the Obama Administration failed miserably in their inspection of the oil rig that exploded. What is that old trite saying? When you point your finger at me, there are three fingers pointing back at you? Perfectly appropros.
Obama’s latest attempt to point fingers is reveals further (not that we need any more revelation of the real Obama) the utter immaturity and incompetence of our President. Mr. President you don’t lead by blaming, you lead by being responsible. Responsibility is the foundation of leadership and you are not being responsible. Our President continues to further reveal an arrogant and ignorant condescension for the intelligence and mental proficiency of America. America sees and knows what Obama refuses to acknowledge, admit and accept any blame. America sees through Obama too. Thank God and I am being literal here.
The Crisis we are in is a Washington crisis now being lead in the most faulty direction by Obama. It is not any past politician’s problem, maybe fault, but not problem. It is Obama’s problem and he is failing to do a damn thing about it other than point fingers and accelerate the very behavior that got us into this mess. He is a governmentaholic and his solution, more government. And that is what is perpetuating the crisis, nothing else. So keep pointing your finger Mr. President, it doesn’t work for any positive purpose other than this: It further reveals your un-American fundamental beliefs, immature character, lack of principle, political agenda, and most horrifyingly, your contempt for the country that we love and cherish. Not that we need it Mr. President, but thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for the Read.
Is our President a Communist? He’s certainly been accused of being one. I thought I should check it out. So I, Reetzality, went to work. So, let’s check it out, but first, let’s get a definition of communism. Here it is:
“Communism is a social structure in which classes are abolished and property is commonly controlled, as well as a political philosophy and social movement that advocates and aims to create such a society.” (See Wikepdia)
REETZALITY! O.K. Now we know what a communism is. Let’s see what President Obama has to say on the subject. Here are some excerpts from Obama’s speech to Berlin in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Thank you http://thebobofiles.com/?p=211. Check it out.
“Yes, there have been differences between America and Europe. No doubt, there will be differences in the future. But the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together. A change of leadership in Washington will not lift this burden. In this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more – not less. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice; it is the one way, the only way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity.”
“The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand.” “This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all.”
REETZALITY! So let me get this straight. We’re in bed with other nations? We should share our wealth with other nations? We are no longer Americans, we are world citizens? Sounds pretty communal to me. Another question, what about our Constitution, you know the fundamental principles of our great nation? Does that cooperation he’s speaking of require us to blend our Constitution with other nations without a Bill of Rights? It appears President Obama is not really concerned with the principles of nations but only the wealth of nations. And he wants to share it. How do I know? He said so, that’s how. Don’t believe me? Go back to the beginning of this blog and re-read.
Here are some more Obama quotes:
“I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.”
“It’s not that I want to punish your success; I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you that they’ve got a chance to success, too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” (Said to Joe the Plumber)
“If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it I’d be OK .
But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.
And that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court-focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.” (Emphasis added) (Said by President Obama, before he was President, on National Public Radio)
REETZALITY! O.K. He’s said some significantly communist-like things in his career. Who hasn’t? Well, me, and I suspect about 99.9999% of Americans, but who am I to judge? Let’s keep investigating. Let’s check out some of his friends.
HERE ARE SOME OF HIS FRIENDS, care of: http://theobamafile.com/_associates/ObamaAssociates.htm:
William Charles Ayers (born December 26, 1944) is an American elementary education theorist and former leader in the anti-war movement that opposed U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. He is known for the radical nature of his activism, which began within the anti-war movement of the 1960s. In 1969 he co-founded the violent radical left organization the Weather Underground, which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s. He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar.
Bernardine Rae Dohrn (née Ohrnstein, born January 12, 1942) is an American former leader of the Anti-Vietnam War radical organization Weather Underground. She is an Associate Professor of Law at Northwestern University School of Law and the Director of Northwestern’s Children and Family Justice Center.
David Axelrod also has connections that that stretch back to post-War Chicago communism. While a New Yorker by birth, David Axelrod studied political science at the University of Chicago in the early 1970s. Later, while a start-out journalist with the Hyde-Park Herald, Axelrod was mentored by two older journalists cum political activists, Don Rose and David S. Canter.
Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his “poetry” and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, “Dreams From My Father,” refers to him repeatedly as just “Frank.”
Graham-Felsen ran the Obama campaign’s blog. He spent time in France taking part in labor riots, has written for a socialist magazine, hung a communist flag in his home, and was a fan of Marx while at Harvard.
Obama administration Communications Director Anita Dunn commended the wisdom of mass murdering Communist Chairman Mao in her address to high school students this past June. Dunn cited Mao as one of her two favorite political philosophers.
A former Jesuit priest and executive director of the Gamaliel Foundation, Galluzzo was interview by New Republic’s Ryan Lizza and showed him the training manual he uses with new organizers. Galluzzo told Lizza that many new trainees have an aversion to Saul Alinsky’s gritty approach because they come to organizing as idealists rather than realists. Galluzzo, along with fellow trainer Mike Kruglik, schooled Obama in Alinsky tactics. The Developing Communities Project, Obama’s first employer in Chicago, was part of the Gamaliel network of organizations.
In June 2009 Patrick Gaspard, a Brooklyn-based, 41-year-old Democratic operative, became White House director of the Office of Political Affairs. Gaspard’s ties to the groups behind ACORN-the groups that helped President Obama during his Chicago days-Democratic Socialists of America and the Communist Party offshoot Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism. Like Obama, Patrick Gaspard wrote poetry. Like Obama , Patrick Gaspard grew up admiring third world leftists and revolutionaries. He reportedly idolized Aime Cesaire, a radical poet/politician from the French colony of Martinique.
Jeff Jones is a co-author of Obama’s Stimulus Bill. He used to be a terrorist. Jones was a national officer in Students for a Democratic Society, a founding member of Weatherman, and a leader of the Weather Underground. Jones is part of the Apollo Group, which was founded by Van Jones — Obama’s former “Green Czar.” The Apollo Group, under Jeff and Van Jones’ direction, basically wrote Barack Obama’s stimulus bill. During World War II, Jones’ father was a pacifist and conscientious objector who was assigned for the duration of the war, to a civilian work camp in the Sierra Mountains of California. Ironic, a pacifist breading a terrorist.
Jones was the leader and founder of a radical group, the communist revolutionary organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM. STORM worked with known communist leaders. It led the charge in black protests against various issues, including a local attempt to pass Proposition 21, a ballot initiative that sought to increase the penalties for violent crimes and require more juvenile offenders to be tried as adults.Speaking to the East Bay Express, Jones said he first became radicalized in the wake of the 1992 Rodney King riots, during which time he was arrested. “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th,” he said. “By August, I was a communist.” “I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.’ I spent the next 10 years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary,” he said.
Marilyn Katz is a Chicago public relations consultant and political operative, who has known David Axelrod for 30 years. Katz claims it was she who introduced Obama to the “activist network” in Chicago.
Rashid Khalidi, an apologist and spokesman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), is the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia University, and Director of the Middle East Institute (MEI) at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs. In his role as MEI Director, Khalidi presides over a $300,000 annual grant from the federal government. He ranks among the most prominent members of the Middle Eastern studies community in the United States. His books are among the most frequently assigned works on the Middle East in American college syllabi. Arab and American media outlets alike seek him out regularly as a leading authority on the Middle East. In the 1990s, Obama and his wife were regular dinner guests at Khalidi’s Chicago home. During the 2000 election cycle, Mr. and Mrs. Khalidi organized a fundraiser for Barack Obama’s unsuccessful congressional bid.
Klonsky is an unabashed communist whose current mission is to spread Marxist ideology in the American classroom. Obama funded him to the tune of nearly $2 million. Obama, moreover, gave Klonsky a broad platform to broadcast his ideas: a “social justice” blog on the official Obama campaign website.
State Senator Barack Obama probably knew Saul Mendelson through their mutual activism in Independent Voters of Illinois, an organization investigated for communist infiltration as far back as the 1940s. On March 13th 1998, Saul Mendelson, a lifelong socialist activist died in Chicago. Mendelson had been a member of various Trotskyist factions in the 1930s and ’40s before joining the US Socialist Party and later DSA. In 1983 Saul Mendelson played a significant role in the election of Harold Washington. The Saul Mendelson Memorial Service was held on Sunday, March 29, 1998, at the First Unitarian Church, Chicago.
According to Chicago DSA leader, the late Carl Marx Shier (who addressed the gathering);
At the memorial service held at the 1st Unitarian Church on South Woodlawn, speaker after speaker recounted Saul’s contributions…speakers included Deborah Meier…Senator Carol Moseley Braun, Alderman Toni Preckwinkle, State Senator Barak Obama, Illinois House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie and a good friend from New York, Myra Russell.
The concluding remarks were made by an old friend, Harriet Lefley, who is now Professor of Psychology at the University of Miami Medical School. Alderman Toni Preckwinkle and Illinois House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie, are both leftist Democrats with ties to Chicago’s socialist community. Both endorsed Barack Obama in his successful 2004 bid for the US Senate.
Eulogies also came from Quinn Brisben, (Socialist Party presidential candidate 1976, 1992) and David McReynolds (Socialist Party presidential candidate 1980, 2000).
Deborah Meier was a former Trotskyist and Socialist Party comrade of Saul Mendelson’s and a leader of Chicago and Boston DSA.
Taught Barack Obama in the Alinsky method.
Linda Rae Murray left the Communist Party in 1992 and has since worked closely with Committees of Correspondence and Democratic Socialists of America. She is a prominent Chicago health professional and the the immediate past president of Quentin Young’s Health and Medicine Policy Research Group. Murray is a leading and very active advocate for “single payer” and has just been elected president of the American Public Health Association — a post Quentin Young held in 1988. There is a picture of her with President Obama and his wife.
In 1995, Alice Palmer represented the state’s 13th District, and decided to run for the United States Congress. She hand-picked Barack Obama to run to replace her. She was an executive board member of the U.S. Peace Council, which the FBI identified as a communist front group, an affiliate of the World Peace Council, a Soviet front group. She participated in the World Peace Council’s 1983 Prague Assembly, part of the Soviet launch of the nuclear-freeze movement. In June 1986, while editor of the Black Press Review, she wrote an article for the Communist Party USA’s newspaper, the People’s Daily World, now the People’s Weekly World. It detailed her experience attending the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and how impressed she was by the Soviet system. Palmer gushed at the “Soviet plan to provide people with higher wages and better education” and spoke of the efficiency of the Soviets’ most recent five-year plan, attributing its success to “central planning.” She praised their “comprehensive affirmative action program, which they have stuck to religiously — if I can use the word — since 1917.”
New evidence has emerged that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was closely associated as early as age 25 to a key adviser to a Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding members of the Black Panthers.
DSA member, former communist and long time Obama friend. The New Zeal blog is reporting that Dr. Quentin Young has been a close friend, personal physician and political mentor to Barack Obama for more than 20 years. He is the father of the US socialized healthcare movement and proudly admits to having tutored his friend Barack Obama in the subject. Young, a member of Democratic Socialists of America, was a member of the Young Communist League in his teens. He was also accused of membership of the Bethune Club of the Communist Party ( a party doctor’s group) by a government commission investigating the 1968 Democratic Party Convention riots in Chicago. Young has been the US’s most active proponent of “single payer” or socialzed healthcare for decades — firstly through his medical committee for Human Rights, then his Physicians for a National Health Program and his Health and Medicine Policy Research Group.
Leftist black nationalist preacher, who preached African-American unity through antipathy toward whites. The Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, who acted as Obama’s personal spiritual adviser, is militantly Afrocentric. His website proudly claimed, “We are an African people, and remain ‘true to our native land,’ the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.” On March 21st, 2010, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, said that people voted for socialism when they voted for Obama. He said it to Geraldo Rivera.
Former Weatherman, Zach Pollet, became ACORN’s political director and the head of ACORN’s Project Vote, now embroiled in voter fraud investigations in several states.
REETZALITY! So he’s got some unsavory and close friends. By the way, these “friends” are each one degree of separation away from President Obama. That means he knows them personally. Heck, who doesn’t have some unsavory friends? I do, but then, I’m a criminal defense lawyer. I’m not judging Mr. President. To use a phrase I find humorous, “I’m just saying . . .” Actually, I’m just “posting.” . . . things I found on the Web.
O.K. Let’s do an interim run down. I gave you a definition of communism. I listed some communistic quotes of President Obama. I listed some communistic friends of President Obama. Let’s try to bring it together. Let’s use Obama-Care to assess whether his policies are communistic.
Here we go. Here are some of our loss of freedoms, thank you Obama-care and thank you, Dr. Jamie Mitchell and David Hogberg at: http://walkinginwisdom.com/archive/2010/03/24/loss-of-freedom-thru-health-care.aspx
1. You are young and don’t want health insurance? You are starting up a small business and need to minimize expenses, and one way to do that is to forego health insurance? Tough. You have to pay $750 annually for the “privilege.” (Section 1501) 2. You are young and healthy and want to pay for insurance that reflects that status? Tough. You’ll have to pay for premiums that cover not only you, but also the guy who smokes three packs a day, drink a gallon of whiskey and eats chicken fat off the floor. That’s because insurance companies will no longer be able to underwrite on the basis of a person’s health status. (Section 2701). 3. You would like to pay less in premiums by buying insurance with lifetime or annual limits on coverage? Tough. Health insurers will no longer be able to offer such policies, even if that is what customers prefer. (Section 2711). 4. Think you’d like a policy that is cheaper because it doesn’t cover preventive care or requires cost-sharing for such care? Tough. Health insurers will no longer be able to offer policies that do not cover preventive services or offer them with cost-sharing, even if that’s what the customer wants. (Section 2712). 5. You are an employer and you would like to offer coverage that doesn’t allow your employees’ slacker children to stay on the policy until age 26? Tough. (Section 2714). 6. You must buy a policy that covers ambulatory patient services, emergency services, hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment; prescription drugs; rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices; laboratory services; preventive and wellness services; chronic disease management; and pediatric services, including oral and vision care. You’re a single guy without children? Tough, your policy must cover pediatric services. You’re a woman who can’t have children? Tough, your policy must cover maternity services. You’re a teetotaler? Tough, your policy must cover substance abuse treatment. (Add your own violation of personal freedom here.) (Section 1302). 7. Do you want a plan with lots of cost-sharing and low premiums? Well, the best you can do is a “Bronze plan,” which has benefits that provide benefits that are actuarially equivalent to 60% of the full actuarial value of the benefits provided under the plan. Anything lower than that, tough. (Section 1302 (d)(1)(A)) 8. You are an employer in the small-group insurance market and you’d like to offer policies with deductibles higher than $2,000 for individuals and $4,000 for families? Tough. (Section 1302 (c) (2) (A). 9. If you are a large employer (defined as at least 101 employees) and you do not want to provide health insurance to your employee, then you will pay a $750 fine per employee (It could be $2,000 to $3,000 under the reconciliation changes). Think you know how to better spend that money? Tough. (Section 1513). 10. You are an employer who offers health flexible spending arrangements and your employees want to deduct more than $2,500 from their salaries for it? Sorry, can’t do that. (Section 9005 (i)). 11. If you are a physician and you don’t want the government looking over your shoulder? Tough. The Secretary of Health and Human Services is authorized to use your claims data to issue you reports that measure the resources you use, provide information on the quality of care you provide, and compare the resources you use to those used by other physicians. Of course, this will all be just for informational purposes. It’s not like the government will ever use it to intervene in your practice and patients’ care. Of course not. (Section 3003 (i)) 12. If you are a physician and you want to own your own hospital, you must be an owner and have a “Medicare provider agreement” by Feb. 1, 2010. (Dec. 31, 2010 in the reconciliation changes.) If you didn’t have those by then, you are out of luck. (Section 6001 (i) (1) (A)). 13. If you are a physician owner and you want to expand your hospital? Well, you can’t (Section 6001 (i) (1) (B). Unless, it is located in a country where, over the last five years, population growth has been 150% of what it has been in the state (Section 6601 (i) (3) ( E)). And then you cannot increase your capacity by more than 200% (Section 6001 (i) (3) (C)). 14. You are a health insurer and you want to raise premiums to meet costs? Well, if that increase is deemed “unreasonable” by the Secretary of Health and Human Services it will be subject to review and can be denied. (Section 1003) 15. The government will extract a fee of $2.3 billion annually from the pharmaceutical industry. If you are a pharmaceutical company what you will pay depends on the ratio of the number of brand-name drugs you sell to the total number of brand-name drugs sold in the U.S. So, if you sell 10% of the brand-name drugs in the U.S., what you pay will be 10% multiplied by $2.3 billion, or $230,000,000. (Under reconciliation, it starts at $2.55 billion, jumps to $3 billion in 2012, then to $3.5 billion in 2017 and $4.2 billion in 2018, before settling at $2.8 billion in 2019 (Section 1404)). Think you, as a pharmaceutical executive, know how to better use that money, say for research and development? Tough. (Section 9008 (b)). 16. The government will extract a fee of $2 billion annually from medical device makers. If you are a medical device maker what you will pay depends on your share of medical device sales in the U.S. So, if you sell 10% of the medical devices in the U.S., what you pay will be 10% multiplied by $2 billion, or $200,000,000. Think you, as a medical device maker, know how to better use that money, say for R&D? Tough. (Section 9009 (b)). The reconciliation package turns that into a 2.9% excise tax for medical device makers. Think you, as a medical device maker, know how to better use that money, say for research and development? Tough. (Section 1405). 17. The government will extract a fee of $6.7 billion annually from insurance companies. If you are an insurer, what you will pay depends on your share of net premiums plus 200% of your administrative costs. So, if your net premiums and administrative costs are equal to 10% of the total, you will pay 10% of $6.7 billion, or $670,000,000. In the reconciliation bill, the fee will start at $8 billion in 2014, $11.3 billion in 2015, $1.9 billion in 2017, and $14.3 billion in 2018 (Section 1406).Think you, as an insurance executive, know how to better spend that money? Tough.(Section 9010 (b) (1) (A and B).) 18. If an insurance company board or its stockholders think the CEO is worth more than $500,000 in deferred compensation? Tough.(Section 9014). 19. You will have to pay an additional 0.5% payroll tax on any dollar you make over $250,000 if you file a joint return and $200,000 if you file an individual return. What? You think you know how to spend the money you earned better than the government? Tough. (Section 9015). That amount will rise to a 3.8% tax if reconciliation passes. It will also apply to investment income, estates, and trusts. You think you know how to spend the money you earned better than the government? Like you need to ask. (Section 1402). 20. If you go for cosmetic surgery, you will pay an additional 5% tax on the cost of the procedure. Think you know how to spend that money you earned better than the government? Tough. (Section 9017).
REETZALITY! OUCH! Let’s revisit the definition of communism to begin to close this discussion. Here it is, again:
So, where are we? Let’s break it down and see if the pegs fit in the holes. Here we go:
1. Communism is a social structure in which classes are abolished. . . Certainly, under Obama-care, everybody has health care, supposedly, and because the “secretary” controls it all, everybody has the same health care. Under Obama-care we are all in the same social class when it comes to health care. So do you mean that no matter how much and how hard I work, a person who smokes, drinks, and doesn’t work is “entitled” to the same health care? Yes, class has been abolished. Damn! The first prong of the communist analysis went, well, communism. Damn again! (However, this may not be entirely true. Due to the Physicians leaving the field, running from Obama-care, and the impending shortages of physicians, there may still be classes. Unfortunately, I think upper class will mean that you are first in line and lower class means that you are last in line.) 2. . . . and property is commonly controlled . . . O.K , I’m going to fall back on my B.S. degree in Economics to explain and question this one. “Commonly controlled” means that control is not vested in the individual, it is “commonly controlled” by a government for all. Under Obama-care, the property, being the money, services, and the actual physical structures, are not controlled by the individual. Under Obama-care they are “commonly controlled” by the government. The individual’s property is taken and redistributed so that all class status in the access to health care is abolished. Damn, for a third time. The second prong of the communist analysis went communist too. 3. . . . as well as a political philosophy and social movement that advocates and aims to create such a society. Uh Oh! President Obama’s philosophy, if consistent with his statements, propounds a social movement. That’s for sure. More Uh Oh! If his philosophies are consistent with his policies, see Obama-care, he “aims to create such a society.” Damn, for a fourth time. It appears President’s health care plan, now law, passes the communist test. IT’S IN! But I’m just saying. . .
But how can this be? This is America. It is of the greatest contradictions to impose communism on America. This cannot be true! It cannot be reconciled with the Constitution, you know, the one that President Obama said the Warren Court “didn’t break free from . . . ,” that one. He also said, he wants to fundamentally change America. I know I’m repeating myself from past blogs, but this is important: Fundamental is defined by Webster’s College Dictionary as “the origin of existence.” So again, given that the constitution is the origin of our Nation’s existence and President Obama wants to “fundamentally” change our Nation, is it a great a leap of faith to surmise that Obama isn’t a fan of the Constitution? I’m just asking . . .
But who am I to question the President? Of course he’s a fan of the Constitution, the origin of our existence. He’s just says things that inherently contradict its principles, has numerous acquaintances who are un-American, and passes law that fit eerily into the definition of communism and cannot co-exist (I love those bumper stickers-sarcasm) with constitutional principles. But I’m just saying. . .
But really? Is it possible that he does love the Constitution because it provides him the freedom and liberty to destroy it? Is it possible he has a love-hate relationship with it? No, no, no! It’s oxymoronic to love something (the Constitution) because the thing (the Constitution) gives you the freedom to destroy it. He wouldn’t think that way, would he? He’s a progressive after all. Again, I’m just asking. Just posing questions President Obama, that’s all. Utilizing the Socratic method of inquiry like you probably used when you taught Constitutional law, that’s all I’m doing. Like we all should be doing.
And that’s my longest Reetzality for the Day.
Thank you so much for the long, long, read.
Note 1: Mind you, I never called him a communist, not once. I posted information I found on the web with links so you can check it out. I then did some rudimentary analysis. So keep me off the no-fly list, if you don’t, it will screw up my skiing and my family’s skiing too. Because, Mr. President, I’m just saying . . . I’m just asking . . .
Note 2: Why is there a hint of fear in my heart as I write this? I mean, even if it is concluded that President Obama has communist’ tendencies, how bad can a communist be? See Castro, Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin, Chavez for the answer.
Note 3: We need to speak out, loud and clear, and consistent with American principles, that’s why I write this stuff. We need to do so to prevent our nation from being fundamentally changed and we no longer can.
Note 4: Enough already. Well, for now anyway.
It’s all about redistribution and the transfer of Wealth, all of it. Obama’s plan is to level the playing field. He said as much to Joe the Plumber. But he under-stated the magnitude of his intentions. He misrepresented his real agenda. Let’s take a look at the pending Obama proposals.
First we had the stimulus package which although mostly unspent, will impose a massive tax at some point, probably on our children. The money is going to “infra-structure” which means government projects which usually means unions. I’m not even mentioning ACORN and STORM who got money from the stimulus plan. (O.K. I mentioned them) It doesn’t matter really, the folks paying for it will only get a pittance of it back. It is generational theft. McCain at least got that right. It is redistribution. It’s a transfer of wealth.
Next, Health Care. A two trillion dollar package. Who will pay for it? Employers, entrepreneurs, small businesses, the tax payers which means fifty seven percent of the population will pay for one hundred percent of the cost of health care. Certainly it will not be those who don’t pay federal income taxes which is forty three percent of Americans. As a criminal defense lawyer, I see those who pay no federal taxes and if you think these folks are going to pony up, I’ve got some swampland in Florida to sell you. Again, the transfer of wealth.
Next. Cap and Trade. The White House Deputy Director of the National Economic Council, Jason Furman told Senate Staff the energy tax scheme would actually raise “two-to-three Times” the budget’s official $646 billion revenue estimate which means the cost will be between 1.3 trillion and 1.9 trillion. The White house says that everybody will get a tax cut based on the revenues. But forty-three percent of folks don’t pay federal taxes but they’ll get money. It’s not a tax cut, it’s a transfer of wealth. Again.
Next, bail outs. The Unions have been handed Chrysler and General Motors, with our money. AIG got a bail out, with our money, or our kids. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Dido. Wall Street? Dido. Sure the Feds made some money off Wall Street, but did they or did we? Are we getting tax rebates based on the profits Washington is making on the Wall Street Bail outs? Nope. We the tax payers bailed them out. They got the money. The Feds got the profits. We got the bill, or again, our kids got the bill. Was there even a whisper in Washington like, “Hey, the tax payers bailed out Wall Street. We/Washington made some money. Maybe we should give some back to the tax payers?” Yeah, right. Not a whisper. Another transfer of Wealth.
Next, Localism. Localism is the code word for the Fairness Doctrine which is set forth to make sure that all media has a balance of opinions, regardless of market for a particular opinion. Except the proposal of the diversity Czar, the guy who administers localism, is to tax one hundred percent of a media outlet’s operating budget. So let’s say you own a radio station. You spend a million a year running it. You pay a million a year so an alternative voice can set up their own radio station. A massive transfer of wealth.
Lastly, for now, the impending tax increases on those who pay taxes and yes, this means you middle class. Math dictates as such. They can take all the income of the rich and it won’t come close to cleaning up our financial house. So middle class, get ready for lie number? I’m not sure which lie number it is. Let us review: I count the following big ones:
1. No ear marks lie (about 9000 on the stimulus plan). 2. I’ll go line by line on every bill and cut waste lie. (he didn’t read the stimulus bill. He hasn’t read the health care bills) 3. I won’t go back in time and prosecute those who interrogated terrorists lie. (He is) 4. There will be no rationing lie. (Increased demand and decreased supply will cause rationing) 5. You can keep the same doctor lie. (Not under his plan and it’s impact on Medicine) 6. You can stay in the plan you have if you want it lie. (Not if it changes one iota and not after five years for certain. Read the bill.) 7. There will be no “death panels” lie. (Rationing and boards that will advise elderly to take pain pills, his words, will effectively have life and death dispositive impact on one’s life) 8. Illegals won’t get coverage under my health care lie. (Nowhere does it say this in the bill) 9. Obama care won’t pay for abortions lie. (Nowhere does it say this in the bill and Amendments desired to be added do say the opposite.) 10. I’m going to reach across the aisle lie. (Google reconciliation and the threat to use it to pass health care. I haven’t heard Obama comment on the use of reconciliation which is definitely not reaching across the aisle. He didn’t reach across the aisle on the Stimulus bill)
So lucky lie number eleven is, drum roll, “I’m not a socialist.” What’s the saying, “if it looks like and sounds like a duck, it’s a duck.” Right on point.
Wait, I thought of another one. “No lobbyists in my administration.” So “I’m not a socialist” is actually big lie number twelve.
It’s a transfer of wealth, plain as day, all of it.
It’s true that most taxes have some element of wealth transfer in them. But the size of the transfers that Obama is proposing is ghastly. It’s un-American and because of the size of the debt he’s creating and our politicians’ addiction to taking care of everybody who supposedly needs and who will supposedly vote for the wet nurses satisfying the needs, it’s another transfer of wealth. And here’s the mantra that’s being imposed on us. Obama won’t say it, but think about it. He has communists working for him, so here’s his unspoken mantra: From each according to his abilities. To each according to his needs. Marxism? Maybe not? Maybe only acute socialism. Aren’t we lucky. Hurray, we’re only on our way to becoming socialists. Don’t get discouraged Marxists. There really is no total communist economy. Black markets ruin communist perfection every time.
These policies are ruining our nation, just like these policies have ruined every nation they’ve ever been employed in. Period. Show me one it hasn’t done so. There aren’t any. And don’t start preaching Sweden or France. But for our freedom and non-socialist principles they’d be speaking either German or Russian.
So support Obama’s policies if you like and if you are eager for the result of his programs, if you just can’t wait, cut to the chase and move to Cuba or Venezuela or some other place where these programs have suppressed the people contrary to our founding principles. Because that’s where we are headed. What? You don’t want to move to Cuba? Then I ask you Obama policy supporters, what in the world are you thinking? Because you’re bringing these countries’ policies here, to America. You should be ashamed, really. You say we’re not bringing these policies home? Let’s take a look. Socialized medicine, state control and ownership of manufacturing, insurance and finance, state control of media through localism, salary caps, mandatory civil service core, huge government, high taxes, attacks on wealth and productivity. . . I’m sure I’m missing a few.
This is where we’re headed. Unless the Tea Parties work, and damn, it looks like they just might. And I’m loving it. So if you love our country, keep going to tea parties, keep protesting, keep writing, keep confronting those who are destroying our country with their time and time again failed agendas.
Thomas Jefferson said that if you fear government you have tyranny, if government fears you, you have freedom. Well I’m afraid Mr. President that I am losing the America I love. Let’s go down the list (partial):
1. Today, you set forth part of your tax plan to get rid of “loop holes” for corporations and individuals who bank or do business off shore, in other countries. You said you wanted taxes to be fair. Well Mr. President, assuming you’re talking about federal taxes, forty percent of Americans don’t pay federal taxes and with your over all plan that number will reach fifty percent. To the extent you tax foreign profit even if not brought into the United States in some cases, folks will be taxed twice. Once in the foreign land and once more here. And who are you to be discussing tax policy? You’ve never made a bottom line in your life, never. And clearly, the concept of making a bottom line doesn’t register high on your priority list based upon your irresponsible spending spree.
2. You spoke on getting folks to pay their fair share as you stood next to Tim Geitner, the Secretary of the Treasury, who dodged his taxes as long as he could. Was this a test firing of how much ridiculous jargon you can spew? Did it go something like this: “”Let’s see how much reaction we get by having Turbo Tax Tim introduce me and even speak a little bit about how important it is for folks to pay their taxes? If it works, we can completely unharness ourselves from any semblance of logic, fairness, reason, equity and truth. We can take on the posture of, “if we spew it, they will follow.” What do you think guys? I say let’s give it a try.” If it works, maybe I really am the King.”"
3. Your car czar is accused of threatening a lawyer representing an investment hedge fund which is owed money by Chrysler. The lawyer argued that his client’s would get a better result in bankruptcy court than under your plan. The lawyer correctly argued that his client’s had a fiduciary duty to protect their clients. So your car czar threatened his clients with repercussions if they didn’t go along with your plan. First, you claim to be a lawyer and yet you clearly have no understanding of basic contract or bankruptcy law. Second, you clearly don’t believe in the freedom to follow and use the law. Third, your personal attack ignores the fact that those that did go along received ungodly amounts of TARP money. And the UAW, they got a piece of the pie.
4. Your firing of executives-and not firing some, like AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, clear tyranny.
5. Your desire to mandate that my children get enslaved to the goverment for public service – More tyranny.
6. Your desire to make me pay for somebody else’s health care – More tyranny.
7. Your desire to create a civilian security force – More tyranny.
8. Your desire to take away guns from law abiding citizens knowing that only criminals will keep them – More tyranny.
9. Your desire to tax energy and have Carbon Dioxide declared a harmful substance, basically characterizing every individuals act of breathing as harmful to the environment – More tyranny.
10. Your spending. You Mr. President have hurt this country’s children. You have imposed a financial burden on them that, when the time it will take them to pay of your debt for your programs is considered, basically enslaves their future to your present. Not very good parenting Mr. President.
Here’s my thought. Why don’t you go down as a good President rather than the one credited with putting the final nail, spike really, in our coffin. It is not right wing or left wing anymore, it is mathematics. Our country simply cannot afford your tyranny and the gross spending within it. This conclusion is based upon mathematics, not politics.
I am not alone in these views. The polls might say there are a lot of folks who disagree with me. The polls might say otherwise. Mr. President, what I would like is a poll of those who are going to pay for it. I would suggest the numbers would be quite different. Shouldn’t you give more deference to those who pay your tab than those who don’t?
There is a chance your politics have reached your dream, where the parasite is running the host. What I mean is, where those that take rule those that provide. I hope not, for my sake, my children’s sake, for all of our sakes.
Quite frankly, I know you are wrong. I know your politics and spending make Katrina look like a spring rain shower. What I don’t know is if you actually care. For example, how can you provide funding for Hamas while cutting the voucher program in D.C.? Not too caring Mr. President. Not too caring for your own people and their children. Very caring for the teacher’s union. And I thought it was about the kids?
I’ll say my prayers for this country which includes you Mr. President. If you truly think I’m wrong, I’m a lawyer too. I’ll debate you any place, any time, any subject. I’ll pay the air fare. Actually, I’ll end up paying yours too.
I have to say Mr. President, as law abiding and Constitutional America Loving as I am, there is a shiver of fear in me writing this due to your politics. Of course, nowhere near the level that Chris Mathews feels when he sees you and a different kind of shiver too.
That’s my REETZALITY for the day.
