COMING TO YOUR LIFE SOON, THE VALUE ADDED TAX!
Jul 22nd, 2010 by Brett Reetz

Obamanomics! The Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act, H.R. 3590, also known as Obama Care, has a provision that requires all purchases from corporations over $600.00 to require a 1099 form to be issued by the purchaser, delivered to the seller, and provided to the government. On the most basic level, that’s three forms for every $600.00 transaction with a corporation. Here’s what Neil deMause, writing at CNN Money, said:

“The massive expansion of requirements for businesses to file 1099 tax forms that was hidden in the 2,409-page health reform bill took many by surprise when it came to light last month. But it’s just one piece of a years-long legislative stealth campaign to create ways for the federal government to track down unreported income. The result: A blizzard of new tax forms that the Internal Revenue Service will begin rolling out next year.

Starting in 2012, that changes. All business payments or purchases that exceed $600 in a calendar year will need to be accompanied by a 1099 filing. That means obtaining the taxpayer ID number of the individual or corporation you’re making the payment to, even if it’s a giant retailer like Staples or Best Buy, at the time of the transaction, or else facing IRS penalties.”

Tom Henschke, president of the Pennsylvania-based SMC Business Councils explains the extent of this new burden upon small businesses: “Just with business travel it would include hotels, rental cars. Phone service: 1099. Computer service: 1099. Whoever does your postage meter: 1099. You do a little advertising, Yellow Pages: 1099. Your landlord: 1099. You might as well just keep them in your pocket and hand them out as you go around every day.”

Boy this is great! Good work congress. Good work Mr. President. Just what the economy needs is more burdensome unprofitable paperwork to stimulate it. Of course the one business that will profit from this is government. It will need to grow and that is how government judges its profitability, it’s success, by its size and growth rate.

But it gets worse. Here’s the Reetzality: I predict this is the first step in installing a value added tax. The Obama governmetn wants to get the folks used to reporting transactions whether they be profitable or not, just report the transaction to the government thank you very much. Don’t worry, right? Apparently, generally accepted accounting principles aren’t sufficiently penetrable by Obama’s government to maximize its taking power. Why would the government care, if it’s only taxing profits? Why would the government care what a company purchases if the company isn’t making a taxable profit? One would think the government would not care. Are they going to advise us on our purchases? I think not. Are they going to regulate our purchases? Probably. In fact this provision does begin to regulate our purchases by cloaking purchases with government forms and bureaucracy.

But here’s the big concern: This Obama government is taking the first step to impose the value added tax. They are getting the folks used to viewing each and every transaction over $600.00 as a potentially taxable event by requiring a tax form, a 1099, to be submitted to the Internal Revenue Service. And then, when the time is right, when our government has imputed what it views as the adequate amount of desperation into our economy, when they have the right quantity of folks on the dole thanks to the government’s attack on our economy, it will suggest, “hey, why not impose a sort of value added tax to help pay for the folks our policies have unemployed? I mean, we’ve already got folks filing 1099’s when they make purchases? Let’s have them throw a little cabbage in the envelope when they send it in.”

Of course, they won’t call it a value added tax. That is too unmarketable a title. Maybe they’ll call it the “Deferred Internal Revenue Enhancer.” DIRE for short. Also of course, don’t bet on the $600.00 threshold holding firm.

This is what I’m predicting. This is what I’m betting on. This is why such a ridiculously burdensome provision is in Obama Care. Folks, get smart on the stealth attack on our country from within, because it’s coming on strong. This is more evidence of this fact.

That’s my Reetzality for the day.

Thanks for the read.

PRESIDENTIAL LIES! WE’VE HIT TWENTY, AT LEAST!
Jul 20th, 2010 by Brett Reetz

AN INTERESTING EDITORIAL FROM THE JOURNAL!
Apr 22nd, 2010 by Brett Reetz

THE PUPPET NAMED MR. PRESIDENT!THE WALL STREET JOURNAL HAS HIM FIGURED OUT!

The Obama Presidency – by Eddie Sessions:

I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he’s led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.

In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? “Dreams of My Father” was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The “Audacity of Hope” followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a “communist with a small ‘c’” was the real author.

His political skills consisted of rarely voting on anything that might be deemed controversial. He went from a legislator in the Illinois legislature to the Senator from that state because he had the good fortune of having Mayor Daley’s formidable political machine at his disposal.

He was in the U.S. Senate so briefly that his bid for the presidency was either an act of astonishing self-confidence or part of some greater game plan that had been determined before he first stepped foot in the Capital. How, many must wonder, was he selected to be a 2004 keynote speaker at the Democrat convention that nominated John Kerry when virtually no one had ever even heard of him before?

He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm. A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed “cool” in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.

And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska . It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984’s Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.

The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.

Now, nearly a full year into his first term, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.

Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to “wish away” some terrible realities, not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain .

The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign “world tour” were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.

Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, has positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party’s hold on power in Congress because in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology, learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist friends and colleagues.

Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an “obstreperous” Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against “jumping to conclusions” about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted “Allahu Akbar.” The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by calling the Christmas bomber “an isolated extremist” only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.

He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America . He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity. And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.

The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.

Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual’s life.

When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man has spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.

We laugh at the ventriloquist’s dummy, but what do you do when the dummy is President of the United States of America ?”

That’s my Reetzality for the day. Thank you Mr. Sessions.

Thanks for the read.

FULL STEAM AHEAD CAPTAIN OBONGA?
Jan 28th, 2010 by Brett Reetz

Captain Obonga to the Rescue!

Captain Obonga to the Rescue!

Captain Obonga, I mean President Obonga, has just completed his State of the Union Address. (He was rambling again and saying crazy things so I’m sticking with the Obonga nick name) I’m relieved. I have nothing to worry about now. Captain Obonga has got it under control. He’s going to fix the economy, government transparency, health care, the environment, the energy crisis, the nuclear power industry, education, bi-partisanship, government secrecy, foreign affairs, terrorism, actual government, the deficit, the Supreme Court decision of last week, ear mark abuses, the American spirit, both parties in congress, HIV, foreign relationships, the nuclear arms race, carbon emissions, the middle class, small business, protect us from the banking industry by punishing Wall Street and has already done so much. How can a person not be in awe of Captain Obonga. Especially when, according to his State of the Union address, he told us little guys, (he called us “they” and called Washington folks “we”) what he had accomplished so far. I didn’t know that he saved us from a second Great Depression? Boy, I am so unappreciative. I didn’t know that he saved millions of jobs. I had no idea that 300,000 teachers were ready to be laid off but for Captain Obonga’s rescue efforts. I had no idea that he hadn’t raised my taxes. Of course I’m one of the “they” and am so naive that I believe that I will never have to pay off the national debt, not a penny of it Captain Obonga, right? And of course, he said “hadn’t” raised my taxes and although us “they” people are naive, we’re not illiterate. We know the difference between “raise” and “raised.” And I’m definitely not not so illiterate to suggest that trying to raise my taxes through the health care bill, the proposed banking fee and Cap and Trade, is actually raising my taxes. You got me there Captain Obonga. You’re right, you didn’t raise my taxes-YET. By the way, can I get Scott Brown’s address to send him a thank you card?

I am so relieved. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Captain Obonga. I had no idea that the government, that failed to prevent a terrorist on the watch list whose father reported him as a radical without a passport from getting on a plane headed to Detroit with a bomb hidden in his underwear, no idea whatsoever that that government could fix everything else. The next thing you know they’ll be joking that the government can’t even keep strangers out of White House dinners? But you set me straight Captain Obonga. Thank you.

O.K., on a more serious note (although the first note was serious, I just utilized humor to demonstrate the seriousness, now I’ll get rid of the humor) was that a speech or what? Shoot, here comes the humor again. Captain Obonga is going to do everything. Pheewww! Say good bye to worries my little friends, I mean you American People. You “they” people.

O.K., O.K. O.K., I took a serious pill, so here goes, firm, fair and frank. The State of the Union address was a rambling cacophony of lies, misrepresentations, false promises, insincerity, rewriting of recent history, bragging, blaming, arrogance, ignorance, condescension, and otherwise consistent with a complete ripper of a marijuana fest. Thus, the “Obonga” nick name. We’ll call it a “BS”-afest instead.

Folks, he’s going to raise our taxes either directly or indirectly and has already done so with his deficit spending. Wait, small correction-maybe. He may have only raised our childrens’ taxes. Folks, he’s not going to endorse nuclear energy or off shore drilling. Folks, he has no desire to assist small business. He doesn’t even respect business for what it does. He said that all student loans would be forgiven in twenty years but in ten years if a graduate goes into public service. That’s right, we need more social workers and bureaucrats in our future than business people because social workers and bureaucrats are just so damn critical. See folks, this is another window into Captain Obonga’s soul. He values government more than the private sector. And he doesn’t understand basic values either; like paying off your debt. What in the world would justify a person to stop paying a debt if it’s not paid off? Shoot, that’s that pesky “keep your word” stuff. God that’s irritating. So what’s the big deal? I cut a deal, borrow some money for a four year degree which I actually spend six getting, drag the payments out for twenty years and then tell the lender that Captain Obonga told me I didn’t have to pay anymore after twenty years. Wait, wait, wait. I thought of something. Why don’t I just grab a public sector job in let’s say year nine, work it for a year, stop paying which is absolutely justified since I’ll be doing something so critical to America, actually serving the public for America, like for example, collecting tolls on a turnpike, and then, when I’m free of my promise to re-pay my student loan, I quit my cherished public sector job and go into the private sector and stick the tax payer with the rest of my debt. So many possibilities.

O.K. Folks, now I’m really going to be serious, actually I have been. I was just using humor to exemplify how much of a joke the State of the Union Address was. Our president has never made a bottom line, hangs out with communists and terrorists, loves Government, big government, is a progressive democrat, wants to socialize medicine, (He said he’s not quitting in his pursuit of his anti-American Agenda (He didn’t say “anti-American” but it is)), has no understanding of the economy, nothing is his fault, and after listening to his speech, wants to run everything.

Prior to his address, it was suggested that the Obama Administration was going to do a “re-set” on its agenda due to the rapidly growing trend against them. The pundits got it half right. Obama did do a reset but not on his agenda. He did a reset on the focus button so that the picture we see is different than before, blurred; but the content, the actual content, is exactly the same.

Beware folks, this guy does not like us “they” people. But he’s afraid of us and that’s why he reached out last night and spun the focus button. He changed the focus to hide. What he didn’t change was the content of his ambitions which are very un-American. Only our ability to see it was changed. But folks, you need not worry. I know this guy and his ambitions will come back into focus sooner than you think, definitely by November.

That’s my Reetzality for the day.

Thanks for the read.

NOTE: I use the “Captain” title to remind folks of the Titanic, you know that unsinkable ocean liner that sank on its first voyage. Of course, America could never be like the Titanic.

OBONGRESS NEEDS A BASIC LESSON IN ECONOMICS!
Jan 21st, 2010 by Brett Reetz

GOOD LUCK OBONGRESS!

GOOD LUCK OBONGRESS!

My intelligence gets repeatedly insulted by OBONGRESSMEN (People in congress or the Obama Administration) stating that they have to create jobs. Here’s the first lesson OBONGRESS, government doesn’t create jobs in the big picture. Really? Yep, Government doesn’t create jobs. Here’s the hard economics and then I’ll get to the right way to create jobs.

There is an economic term called a “multiplier effect.” The multiplier effect is the efficacy of spending. It is the ability of spending to produce an effect on the economy, either growing it or shrinking it. Let’s assume the government spending multiplier effect is 1.0 (one). That means that an increase in one unit of government purchases, and thereby, in the aggregate, demand for goods would lead to an increase by one unit in real gross domestic product (GDP). Thus, the added public goods are essentially free to society. If the government buys another airplane or bridge, the economy’s total output expands by enough to create the airplane or bridge without requiring a cut in anyone’s consumption or investment. If the multiplier is greater than 1.0 as OBONGRESS tells us, then government spending creates more growth than the actual spending. That’s the multiplier effect. But we have a problem OBONGRESS, government spending has a multiplier effect of less than 1.0. Studies, focusing on World War II and the Viet Nam War, have shown that at best the multiplier effect is .8, less than one. This is probably higher than it actually is because war time shrinks the supply of labor so wages tend to rise and the unemployed become employed. A negative multiplier, which .8 is, is a bad thing. It means it costs us more as a nation to spend a dollar than a dollar. Spending shrinks the economy and OBONGRESS, here’s a hard fact, that’s what’s going on right now. Your spending is shrinking the economy. You’re spending is hurting the economy, that thing you claim to be so concerned about. Here’s a hard analysis. If OBONGRESS were right, why isn’t its spending growing the economy. Spend like a drunken sailor and grow the economy, right? Wrong, it doesn’t work. History proves it doesn’t work, over and over again. Damn that history. Governments, including ours, hate history. It’s such an irritation to their voluminous tripe.

But, and this is a big “BUT”, if OBONGRESS really cares about people, and really doesn’t just want to collapse the economy to mass produce need and thereby mass produce needy voters who vote for help, not change, then here’s what they’ve got to realize.

As stated, as history proves, government spending shrinks the economy and hurts people. Sure, if you get a nice government contract you make some money, but you make it at the expense of the economy. The dollar you make, costs the economic society more than a dollar. That’s the point. You also risk partaking in a downward spiral much like the one our nation is in presently.

So what do we do stimulate the economy? How do we create jobs? I will tell you soon. It’s been established that government doesn’t create jobs in the comprehensive national economy. Who does? The private sector. But why isn’t the private sector creating jobs? Because the private sector is cautious, it is financially conservative by nature. What does the private sector fear the most, what does money fear the most? Risk and Uncertainty, that’s what. What does the private sector do when faced with risk and uncertainty? It reduces risk, it tightens its belt. It doesn’t hire, doesn’t expend venture capital, doesn’t expand. It hangs on to what it has which is the smart and natural thing to do.

Right now, given the OBONGRESS agenda, which is creating debt at the greatest rate in history, what it is really creating is risk and uncertainty. It is scaring the hell out of the private sector. The private sector is terrified about the exploding national debt, looming regulation, looming increased taxes, government take overs of industry, cap and trade legislation, and based on my analysis, everything OBONGRESS is doing or proposing. So, based on the private sector’s fear, they have and will continue to tighten their belts, avoid risk, and avoid expansion. So as long as OBONGRESS presses on with its agenda, it will shrink the economy. Econ 101, there it is.

Now, here’s the solution. If OBONGRESS really wanted to create jobs, really wanted to grow the economy, then here’s what it needs to do. Eliminate risk and uncertainty, that’s what.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that if the private sector were confident that the dollar would hold its value, the government wouldn’t explode, taxes wouldn’t explode, the cost of employment wasn’t going to sky rocket, and regulation would be reduced, the private sector would take risks. The private sector would chance into new innovative projects with new products, new ideas, and most importantly, new jobs. And here’s a somewhat important point; the private sector has a positive multiplier effect. That means that when McDonald’s, the franchise or some family named McDonald, ventures out and spends money, it grows the economy more than a dollar for every dollar they spend or invest in a venture.

This economic analysis isn’t unknown, it is basic. It is well known. And yet, OBONGRESS ignores it. As a side note, OBONGRESS claims they saved the auto industry and the banking industry. Really? Sort of, is the answer. Yes there are banks in existence and auto manufactures in business that wouldn’t be if the government hadn’t stepped in. But, the overall cost to our economic society to save these companies is greater than the benefit. If you’re an auto worker you receive a benefit. The rest of our economic society receives a detriment greater than the benefit received by the auto worker. Evidently, OBONGRESS doesn’t just want to redistribute the wealth, they also want to redistribute the suffering.

So OBONGRESS, take a look at history, read up on economics, and do the right thing. Give the private sector a climate without uncertainty and risk. Let the private sector keep what it earns and believe it will continue to keep what it earns in the future rather than having it be expropriated by a drunken OBONGRESS, because that fear, that fear that our government is a growing cancer, shuts down the private sector. It hurts folks, hurts them bad.

One more note, for my entire business life, the biggest bill I’ve ever had to pay is the bill to the government. It has never been an insurance premium. It has never been health care. It has always been you government. And that bill, that I pay monthly, limits what I can spend with a positive multiplier effect. So do the right thing, and give us hard working Americans our confidence back. Let us believe that the cancerous government is going to stop growing. If you do, you’ll get your jobs and you’ll get to take credit for creating them, a minor league lie by your standards, but I’ll let you run with it.

That’s my Reetzality for the Day.

Thanks for the read.

ARNOLD! YOU ARE A LOSER!
Dec 25th, 2009 by Brett Reetz

Arnold the Loser!

Arnold the Loser!

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, anticipating a twenty one billion dollar state budget deficit, is going to ask the President to ease mandates and minimums on social programs to save as much as eight billion. He is doing this so he doesn’t have to ask for stimulus money. What has become of us. Here we have the terminator, couching words, re-characterizing requests, to balance the state budget of a state that has gone woefully liberal and big surprise, failing. Wait, California is failing? The state with the silicon valley and hollywood is failing? Yes it is? Why? Because they got drunk on their wealth, passed untold social welfare programs, put their arms out to illegal aliens, thought government was limitless in what it could do, and what do you know, broke.

And now Arnie, a scham Hollywood idiot who knows nothing of economics, a complete rave buffoon, says he wants concessions from the feds so he can cut services. Hey Arnie, what’s the difference between a cut and a bail out. Why aren’t you speaking to the principles of the programs you want to cut. They are bad programs. They encourage sloth, indifference, non-motivation, why aren’t you just cutting them? Oh, they’re doing so much for you’re bankrupt state, right? You’re sitting on the some of the most lucrative real estate in the world and you’re broke, But Why? Here’s why:

Government. You arrogant impotent S.O.B.’s got drunk on your wealth and instead of dealing with principles, instead of making hard decisions, instead of doing what was morally right, you rolled over. Why screw up an elitist cocktail party to worrry about principles, right? So you welcomed illegal aliens and paid for them, you lavished benefits on those who worked for the king (governemt), you raised taxes to drive businesses out of your state, and in the end, you are bankrupt. And now you want us, from other states to bail you out? Is that fair? Is that just? You go on a an irrational spending spree, and we bail you out without any consequences? No. It is not fair. I object.

So Arnold, you terminator, you star, go to Washington and beg, ask for money or concessions, ask for whatever it is you need to indulge your impotence. But let’s be clear, we know you are impotent. A real man would simply cut that which he could not afford. But then again, a real man has his cojones and has not sacrifice them to short term adulation, prominence and falic facades.

You may have the muscles Arnold, but you fail in the reproductive capacity. In fact we can’t even see any.

That’s my Reetzality for the day.

Thanks for the Read.

GOT TYRANNY? WE DO NOW!
Dec 23rd, 2009 by Brett Reetz

American Tyranny Revealed!

American Tyranny Revealed!

The Senate just did it, they got their sixty votes to achieve cloture so that no further debate can occur on the government take over of one-sixth of our economy. Tomorrow the Senate will pass its Health Care Bill, on Christmas Eve of all days of the year. Harry Reid said that sixty senators did not allow fear to overwhelm fact. He said that it is a historic moment. He is correct that this is a historic moment. It is the moment in history when it was confirmed. America, the country we know and love, is now the country we knew and loved. (Past tense intentional). Our Congress, both houses, have ignored the people and taken away an immense amount of freedom, the very freedom to take care of your own personal health in a free and unencumbered way. This is what is being taken from us. It is also historic in that never before in the history of the world has a bigger chunk of coal been given as a gift at Christmas. It appears that we Americans must have misbehaved to receive such a gift. We did! We Americans failed to take care of ourselves, failed to be independent, failed to not get addicted to the government teat. We have failed and there will be consequences that not only will we have to pay for, but our children and their children will have to pay for it too. Shame on us for getting so rich and irresponsible that we allowed a culture to develop where government is now telling us, “Your productivity? I’m taking control of it. I’m redistributing it to those who weren’t quite as productive. I’m giving it to those who didn’t work hard in school, who didn’t plan, who didn’t save, who have inferior priorities, who are so irresponsible in their lives that they don’t even provide for their own health care and instead expect and demand others to pay for it.” We Americans allowed this culture to develop and we shall pay, oh shall we pay.

The utter stupidity of those who supported Obama/congressional health care reform which has been tried in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Soviet Union, Canada, etc. and every time, always, failed is amazing. It is the classic definition of insanity; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

The audacity of the left to put a provision in the Senate bill which will be passed tomorrow that no future congress can repeal what they will pass tomorrow. Imagine if Ronald Regan or George Bush had put a provision in the bills that allowed us more liberty to retain our productivity (tax cuts) that prevented future congresses from repealing the tax cuts? There would have been outrage.

Even if the current bill does what the lefties say it will, they even admit that 25 million Americans (they include illegal aliens as Americans) will not be provided health insurance. This means that they will take over one sixth of the economy with the stated goal of providing everybody health coverage and only succeed at providing health care for less than one half of those who they say don’t have it now. The left says that there are 46 million uninsured folks in the country, (that’s a lie) but for the sake of argument I’ll buy their number to state the obvious, 25 million is more than half of 46 million so they take over one sixth of our (and I mean OUR) economy and only meet half their goal. Why don’t they take over two sixths of our economy and get them all covered? Here’s why, they could give a rodent’s arsh about health care. This is about government control.

Here’s another outrage. Nobody will have read the entire bill with the possible exception of myself, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Imagine the audacity to fundamentally change our ways without even understanding the change that will occur? Without even reading the plan? You don’t have to imagine it, it is happening, right before our eyes.

Here’s another outrage. The unions are exempt from the tax on “cadillac” health care plans. So the very scum that have pushed for “health care reform” are being exempted from paying their share of it. The bill will be passed based upon back room politics, congressional bribes, and an abject ignorance of what we the people want. Tyranny. “Let them eat Cake.”

Here is the biggest outrage. Tyranny has arrived on our shores, in America of all places. I should correct myself, Tyranny has been here for a while, but now it has come out of the closet with a, for lack of a more appropriate term, a “shit eating grin” on its face. Don’t believe me. Watch the news tonight and witness the lefties glee. They know they’re are destroying us. They know that we know they are destroying us. That’s not where the grin comes from. The grin is based upon the fact that they are getting away with it. The grin is based upon the fact that by couching their tyranny under the facade of caring and need, they have conned us into giving up our most fundamental principle, freedom. These tyrants in Washington believe they have won the con game and for now, they have. But here’s some hope. Tyrants never last long. They fall by internal collapse, i.e. the Soviet Union. They fail by revolution, either forcefully or with a political collapse. Our revolution is an example of a tyrant’s forced failure. Poland’s tyrants’ collapse is an example of political collapse. I reviewed my history and cannot find a long lasting tyrant anywhere; thus, there’s hope.

So this Holiday season, sit back and recognize what is being done to us. Recognize that as sad as this moment in history is, that God opens a window when he closes a door. Thank God for your fundamental principles and have faith in them because nobody can take those away from us, nobody. They are God given and not dolled out by a government, anywhere. Yes, they can be and are bridled by government, but when Government goes too far, which ours is doing right now, the principles arise. They are the sleeping dog that should not be kicked. Unfortunately for the tyrants, I have faith that they have indeed kicked the sleeping dog named American Fundamental Principles. And our history tells us, this dog bites.

So now it’s our time to put fear aside and deal with facts. Tyranny is here and it is out in the open. That’s the fact. Fight it without fear my friends and if you don’t, then apologize to your children. Apologize profusely, you owe them at least that.

That’s my Reetzality for the day.

Thanks for the read.

SAD TIMES IN AMERICA!

Here’s a book that was recommended to me. In reading the review, it appears to be right on point. Here’s the review:

THE CHARACTER OF NATIONS
Learning from other countries’ mistakes.

By Thomas Sowell

In an age that values cleverness over wisdom, it is not surprising that many superficial but clever books get more attention than a wise book like The Character of Nations by Angelo Codevilla, even though the latter has far more serious implications for the changing character of our own nation.

The recently published second edition of Professor Codevilla’s book is remarkable just for its subject, quite aside from the impressive breadth of its scope and the depth of its insights. But clever people among today’s intelligentsia disdain the very idea that there is such a thing as “national character.”

Everything from punctuality to alcohol consumption may vary greatly from one country to another, but the “one world” ideology and the “multicultural” dogma make it obligatory for many among the intelligentsia to act as if none of this has anything to do with the poverty, corruption, and violence of much of the Third World or with the low standard of living in the Soviet Union, one of the most richly endowed nations on earth when it came to natural resources.

The Character of Nations is about far more than the fact that there are different behavior patterns in different countries — that, for example, “it is unimaginable to do business in China without paying bribes” but “to offer one in Japan is the greatest of faux pas.”

The real point is to show what kinds of behaviors produce what kinds of consequences — in the economy, in the family, in the government, and in other aspects of human life. Nor do the repercussions stop there. Government policies are not only affected by the culture of the country, but can in turn have a major impact on that culture, for good or ill.

Written in plain and sometimes blunt words, The Character of Nations is nevertheless the product of a man whose knowledge and experience span the globe, extending into economics, philosophy, and other fields, as well as encompassing the wisdom of the ancients and the follies of the moderns.

The book is an education in itself, more of an education than many students are likely to get at an Ivy League college. However, its purpose is not academic but to clarify the issues facing us all today when “the character of the American way of life is up for grabs perhaps more than ever before,” as the author puts it.

While nations differ, particular kinds of behavior produce particular kinds of results in country after country. Moreover, American society in recent years has been imitating behavior patterns that have produced negative — and sometimes catastrophic — consequences in many other countries around the world.

Among these patterns have been a concentration of decision-making power in government officials, an undermining of the role of the family, a “non-judgmental” attitude toward behavior, and a dissolution of the common bonds that hold a society together, leading to atomistic self-indulgences and group-identity politics that increasingly pits different segments of society against each other.

Those among the intelligentsia who say that we should “learn from other countries” almost invariably mean that we should imitate what other countries have done. Angelo Codevilla argues that we should learn from other countries’ mistakes, especially when those same mistakes have repeatedly produced bad results in many countries and among many very different peoples, living under very different political systems.

Putting ever more economic decisions in the hands of those with political power is just one of those mistakes with a track record of producing painful repercussions in many countries around the world. These repercussions have included not only serious economic losses but, even more important, a loss of personal freedom and self-respect, as ever-wider segments of the population become supplicants and sycophants of those with the power to dispense largess or to make one’s life miserable with legalistic or bureaucratic harassment.

We in America have taken large steps in that direction in recent years, and are accelerating our moves in that direction this year. Getting some clearer sense of what this risks is just one of many reasons to read The Character of Nations.

Back to Reetzality. Character of Nations appears to be right on. The question it begs is why do our leaders pursue policy after policy that have failed over and over again in other nations? I can only come up with two possibilities. They are either ignorant or they want us to fail, so long as they are running the show. We need to wake up and put an end to the destruction of our nation.

That’s my Reetzality for the Day.

WHERE ARE YOU AMERICANS?

Obama the Cowboy Communist!

Obama the Cowboy Communist!

Harry Reid has just accomplished through bribery, sort of, his goal to get sixty votes to quash any filibuster in the senate. There will be no filibuster. The liberal health care bill will pass. That means that one sixth of our economy will be consumed by government incompetence. Why? Because the senate has the votes to pass the health care vote and then it will go to the house where the speaker will, rather than opening it for debate, pass it. We will be stuck with the government, the incompetent government, controlling one sixth of our economy, one sixth of our freedom to exist in a free enterprise system. By the way, the key to free enterprise is freedom. So now, these morons, who have never run a business, never made a bottom line, never been subject to the realities that we as private sector folks deal with on a daily basis, will be running a big percentage of our lives. We are screwed. Thank you liberals and your unadulterated ignorance. Thank you very much. How stupid are you to believe that government can run anything when you take out bottom lines, accountability, responsibility, and consequences. They can’t. So here we are. Again, thank you very much. You have just screwed us all.

But we will prevail. Those of us, most of us, who believe in the virtues of America and not the pragmatic destruction of it like the left believes in, will prevail. For one, you will be escorted out of office in the next election. For two, we will repeal the legislation. For three, we will beat you. We won’t pay, we will dodge, we will evade. That’s what folks do when faced with abhorrent realities, they fight it. We will. There is no way that you are going to legislate our freedom away from us on this level. We will fight, and let it be known, we will win. Why, we are self reliant, self motivated, creative, independent, and ultimately, we don’t need you to survive, you need us. So we will commit metaphorical suicide. We will not produce, we will not create, we will not inspire. We will take a break so that you cannot tax us to death. Try taxing a sloth, we will become that. Try taxing a non-producing entity, we will become that. Try forcing us to work, it won’t work and neither will we. So liberals, have your party in the sand, but you have failed, you have killed the host that you parasites feed on, and ultimately you will die.

I understand your plan. For one, you’ve taken over one sixth of the economy. The next step will be amnesty for illegals, you’ll get their votes. Nelson’s sell out in Nebraska will avail your sordid selves to make it all national, we’ll pay, we’ll control, I see your agenda, but you will fail.

The polls are clear that the majority of Americans don’t want this bill passed. The representative from Minnesota cited the polls as they applied to medicare, most folks didn’t want it and now they like it. Yeah, they’ve become addicted. So what? Two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because folks didn’t want medicare and now people like it doesn’t entitle congress to ignore the populous. Hey congress, we dont’ want it. Of course, 43% of folks don’t even pay federal taxes, so let’s take that out of the polls, so now we’re to point in the polls, if the non-tax payers are kept out, the vast majority of the polled folks who pay taxes are against congress.

It is more and more becoming revolution time. Here’s how you do it without being thrown in jail. Do like I did, and kick all the Obama fans out of your house. Tell them why, tell them your reasons, tell them the truth. Draw the lines. Next, study the tax law and use every available technique to pay less taxes, you are only subsidizing the idiocracry of Washington if you pay taxes so legally don’t pay them. Three, hunker down, don’t create, don’t innovate, don’t do anything that will make income beyond your needs because they will just tax you to transfer wealth.

That’s my plan. Have you ever read Atlas Shrugged? Read it. We are there. Who is John Gault? It is time for a civil revolution. Now is the time.

That’s my Reetzality for the day.

HEY REPUBLICANS! WAKE UP, GET TO WORK, OR GET OUT!

Republican Failure!

Republican Failure!

As Obama’ policies cascade in popularity, as national debt sky rockets, as government take overs loom over our health care and industry, the Republicans remain effectively silent on the sidelines. The American populous is sick and tired of Washington, pick a party, but right now the angst is directed at Obama’s policies. What do the Republicans do? Not much in my opinion. They offer up objections to the massive spending while they place their own earmarks in the Omnibus spending bill. They have a vacancy sign in their policy hotel. They don’t even have a leader. Let’s face it, the Republican party has lost its way. It has strayed from the conservative and libertarian principles that made this country great. The Republican party appears to be constructing a 2010 campaign platform that goes something like this; “We don’t suck as bad as the democrats,” or maybe like this; “We are drunken sailors when it comes to spending but not as drunk as the democrats,” or maybe an honest slogan like “It’s our turn to be in charge of ruining the country.” Who knows? If the country is to be saved, the Republicans have to undergo a redemption, more of redemption than even Glenn Beck went through. Here’s what they need to do, and this agenda is not prioritized:

1. Put a flat tax in their platform.

2. Put a balanced budget amendment in their agenda with a war exception clause. Don’t worry Washington, we’re Americans. We can and will survive without you and your pork and your wet teat.

3. Outlaw, within the party, earmarks. If an earmark is worthy of federal attention, let it stand on its own, in its own bill. Period.

4. Put a term limit bill in the platform. They can grandfather themselves in so the next generation of scoundrels is only afforded a fixed amount of time to scar the country.

5. Re-invent the Department of Energy to do what its supposed to do; Get us to energy independence. Thus, build nuclear reactors, drill for oil and gas on our land, and offer tax incentives, not corporate welfare, for alternative fuel innovation.

6. Fix health care by allowing inter state competition between health insurers, tort reform, and allowing nurses and physicians assistance to provide more care. Institute policies that put health care responsibility, even for seniors, back on the backs of the people and not the government. Terminate the prescription drug plan for seniors. It’s not fair. We can’t afford it. It’s generational theft.

7. Secure the borders and deport illegal aliens.

8. Eliminate the depreciation schedules and allow business to immediately expense capital investments. Eliminate corporate taxes and treat all corporations as a sub-chapter S corporation. Thus, only individuals are taxed.

9. Put a National Right to Work Bill in the platform. Unions need to be put in check. Don’t believe me, look at the industries and geographical areas that are clothed in the union cloak. They are way bad off, because of the unions.

10. Put a line item veto bill in the platform.

11. Shut the lobbyists and special interests down by taking the money out of the equation. You want to persuade a congressman, use your ideas and not your wallet.

12. Require drug testing for recipients of welfare, food stamps, and disability.

13. Vow to shrink and simplify government, another way put, (strange phrase “another way put”) get out of our lives.

14. Stop the Cap and Trade non-sense. Global warming, climate change, call it whatever marketing term you want, don’t put an albatross around our country’s neck in the name of the green movement.

15. Clean up our rivers. Just about everybody lives near a river and most of our rivers are toxic. Folks will like cleaner rivers. It hits close to home. A clean river is a good thing. Folks can go fishing, rafting, canoeing, swimming, all kinds of things. As the late Mayor Daley said, his most intelligent statement ever, “What da’ heck could be better den a fish.”

16. No bail outs. Period. You win, you win. You lose, you lose. And I mean YOU!

If the Republican party does this, they will rule, not by power or need or fraud, but by principles. And they need to do this too; kick out the Olympia Snows and other Rinos (Republicans in name only) from the party. Better to die with your principles than to die a slow death without them. But don’t worry Mr. Michael Steele, if you take my advice your party won’t die, it will triumph. This is your time, the time to do the right thing. Don’t fail yourself. Of course, I might just be a naive idealistic who believes in doing the right thing and is ignorant to the absolute reality of government’s inherent evil. I hope not. Still, in deference to my gut feeling of government and maybe my ignorance, I still don’t let politicians on my boat.

I will tell you this Republicans. If you run on the “We suck less” platform, you will be equally culpable of ruining the greatest thing a people have ever created, America. What’s the saying? Here it is: Screw me once. Shame on you. Screw me twice. Shame on me. The people of America are sick of being ashamed by our government and its politicians.

That’s my Reetzality for the Day.
